Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
The short version: Orso has no accounts, no ads and no trackers. Your progress lives on your iPhone. Your voice is processed by Apple's speech recognition — on your device whenever possible. The only things that ever leave your phone are AI topic requests and messages you send us yourself.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in Orso — your progress, level, streaks, favorites, settings and learned words — is stored locally on your iPhone (and in your device's iCloud backup, controlled by you). We have no accounts and no server that stores your learning data.
Speech recognition
When you practice speaking, Orso uses Apple's Speech framework to check what you said. Recognition runs on your device whenever possible; on some devices or languages Apple may process audio on Apple's servers, as described in Apple's own privacy terms. Orso itself does not record, store or upload your voice anywhere.
AI-generated topics
If you create a custom topic, the topic text you type is sent to our server and forwarded to an AI provider to generate phrases. The request is verified with Apple's App Attest (a device-integrity check); it contains no name, email or account — we can't tie it to you personally. Topic text is used only to generate your phrases.
Feedback you send
If you contact us through the app or this site, we receive the message and the email you provide, plus basic context like app version and device model. We use it only to reply and fix things.
No third-party sharing
We do not share, sell or transfer your data to third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, no ad networks and no social integrations in the app.
Children's privacy
Orso does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. There are no accounts, so no personal data is requested from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If the policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Substantial changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
